How
It Works
back
to top
There are three
ways to use SmartSTO. Each is designed for a different type of oxygen
user. Review each of the categories and determine which style of use
best suits your needs.
Traditional Use | Setup
This style of use is designed for the oxygen user who has function of both hands and is capable
of walking.
To begin, the oxygen user inserts all oxygen tubing into SmartSTO. Once the tubing is properly inserted, the oxygen user may move freely throughout their home as the oxygen tubing naturally withdraws from the storage bag.
After reaching their destination, the oxygen user may choose to return the excess tubing to SmartSTO, storing it safely away from the path of family members and guests. It is at the oxygen user's discretion as to how often they return the excess tubing to SmartSTO.
Recommended
for daily use, holidays and/or large gatherings in the home.
Stationary
/ Caregiver Use | Setup
This style of use is designed for the oxygen user who is unable to walk and requires assisted
care.
After properly inserting the oxygen tubing into the storage bag, the caregiver may attach SmartSTO to the concentrator and withdraw
only the length of tubing needed to reach the patient's stationary location
(i.e., bed, bath, chair).
This style of use
provides a safer environment for the caregiver as they manage the patient
and/or move throughout the patient's living space.
Recommended
for daily use and/or task specific use.
Powered
Mobility Use | Setup
This style of use is designed for the oxygen user who requires powered mobility.
When used
in conjunction with powered wheelchairs, carts or scooters, SmartSTO
is designed to contain the oxygen user's 6-10 foot cannula.
SmartSTO allows
the oxygen user to travel freely, keeping cannula tubing clear from
wheels and steering instruments. Among other benefits, SmartSTO hooks
or hangs from armrests and portable oxygen tanks.
Recommended
for daily use.

Features of SmartSTO

The SmartSTO Oxygen
Tubing Storage Bag has no mechanical or automated features. Medical
professionals agree such components pose the following concerns: compressed
airflow, tubing damage, maintenance complications and increased product
weight.
SmartSTO's hand-fed
design enables the oxygen user to manage tubing without imposing excessive
maintenance or tubing damage.
SmartSTO is currently
available in blue and red fabric. It is made of a 65% / 35% Polyester
/ Cotton Twill blend with white lining and is machine washable.
SmartSTO is made
in the USA.
